Spring 2010March 19, 2010
Dear Mill Creek Overlook Homeowner,
Thankfully spring time is finally upon us after such a rainy and cold winter! As you know, this is the time of year that we need to begin thinking about addressing the outside of our homes as the weather begins to warm up.
The Mill Creek Overlook Architectural Control Committee asks that each of you assess your property and over the next month, complete the necessary tasks to keep your property looking neat and well kept! General maintenance items include but are not limited to, putting down weed killer, laying down approved ground coverings (mulch, pine straw or bark chips), painting mailboxes, painting house trim, painting homes, pressure washing homes, completing any necessary repair work, pulling weeds especially in the landscape areas, pruning and trimming shrub, mowing lawns etc. In particular, we have noticed that many of the flags on the mailboxes need to be painted. As a note, they should be red. Over time, the sun has faded many of them to a pinkish color. For those of you who are new to the neighborhood, mailboxes should be painted satin black/semi-gloss with the finial and house numbers gold. All of these paints can easily be found at Wal-Mart or any paint store. As a reminder, we are eligible for a discount at the Sherwin-Williams paint store located in Hickory Flat. Just be sure to mention that you are a resident of the Mill Creek Overlook community when checking out.
In addition, we would like to remind everyone to please keep your garbage cans out of view from the street and to put them away within a reasonable time frame (24 hours after pick up). Some have gotten in the habit of leaving them out which is a violation of our covenants.
Once again, thank you all so much for all of your continued hard work. It is greatly appreciated by the ACC, as well as everyone in our community. We look forward to a wonderful spring and summer and the privilege of continuing to serve you. As a final note, please take a moment to view our new website @ millcreekoverlook.com where you will find additional helpful information.
Warm Regards, The Mill Creek Overlook Architectural Control Committee |
